July 4th Celebrations!
Greetings from us all! I hope that this finds you well; we have enjoyed a very pleasant July 4th long weekend! We all love 3 day weekends very much! We all like the fact that Tim is around for an extra day and that we get the chance to do fun things as well as the more mundane things like the gardening!
The weekend started on Thursday really as the children and I went into Redmond to meet Tim for lunch. The canteen was very quiet, which was good and the children were very excited about seeing Daddy and drawing on his white board! Silas was so excited that he made sure that he sat next to Daddy and not Mummy when we were eating!
After lunch we came home and Silas had a nap and then we went food shopping. When we came back Tim was already home which was great! Unlike most Friday nights, I was not so tired so we watched a documentary on Barack Obama (the next Democrat Presidential Candidate) which was quite interesting!
On Friday we went to Kirkland to watch the Parade there, which was have seen before and it is very good! The children sat on a mat on the edge of the road and watched it with great interest, even Silas. Naomi was very good at cuddling Silas if there were things that he wasn't too keen on but that wasn't too often! He loved seeing the Fire trucks and the cars!
After the parade we had a late lunch and then came home. Tim and I did a bit of gardening whilst the children played, which was good!
Yesterday we got out the bouncy castle in the morning and got it pumped up, only to discover a large hole in the base of it! Once this was mended, I got it pumped up again but there must be a small hole in the side of it as it has gone down again today. However, I think i can pump it up enough for the children to use anyway, so that is good! We need to work out a way to get the legs down for the sand table as Silas would like this but the legs are up on the top shelf of the garage!! A job for this week I think!
After Silas woke up yesterday we went into Seattle to go to the Milk carton Boat races at Green lake park. We had a picnic at the park and then caught the last couple of races which were fun. As the name suggests, the boats are made out of milk cartons - you sort of have to just imagine it!! - but they are big enough to sit on and then paddle across a short distance, mostly!! Some of them sink which is quite funny! I can't imagine how many cartons they must use!!
There were also a great many stalls giving away freebies so we collected a few bits along the way and bumped into a couple of people to talk to so it was fun!
Today we went to church this morning and then went to the University Village shopping centre for lunch with my friend Jen and her son, Ian. Jeff (Jen's husband) is away and so it was nice for us all for them to be able to join us. I bought a couple of bits in Eddie Bauer and then we came home!
Silas has been funny this weekend and making us all laugh! On Thursday when we were at Microsoft he was shouting at the top of his voice "head" "Head" and pointing and touching as many heads as he could reach! It was making the people in the reception area laugh! It was so funny to see how excited he got realising that there were so many heads around!!
Silas has also been very attached to Tim this weekend which is good as he can be a bit of a mummy's boy at times! Silas likes his routines and doesn't like it if Daddy baths him or puts him to bed but he has been better the last few days!
Esther made us smile this weekend too! I asked her yesterday if she had put away the DVD's that were on the floor and she replied "It's more like it"! Well, what that meant was that she hadn't done that bit but the room was tidier than when they had started out! Unfortunately for her, I still wanted the DVD's put away so she had to do it until I was satisfied rather than when it was "more like it!!"
Esther also asked Tim this morning if she looked "squisite" which needed a translation but she did indeed look exquisite!!
This week we may / may not have some refugees with us so i am not too sure what we are doing after Wednesday but tomorrow we are going to see Rosie, Caitlyn and Cameron which will be lovely as I haven't seen them in a couple of months!
That is it for now! Lots of love to you all!
