A wet Bank Holiday weekend!

Hi there! Hope that you are enjoying your Bank Holiday weekend and that you have better weather than we are! It is our Bank Holiday too this weekend, which makes it easy for me to remember and it is the first one since Christmas, so we have been looking forward to it!

We have done some exciting things since I last wrote! We had our normal activities on Thursday during the day and saw Maddie, Alex and Vanessa during the afternoon. It was pouring all day (has been all week, actually!) and so they came to play here for a bit. Our girls had to have an early tea as we were going to Naomi’s school Song Festival in the evening!

The Song festival was lovely and it was great to see all of Naomi’s class mates and a few other children who go on a different day. They sang a lot of different songs, some of which we knew and many that we didn’t! There was one about a nut, a fire truck and continents that I didn’t know as well as things like the “wheels on the bus”, “if you’re happy and you know it” etc. Naomi was very shy and although sang all the words to the songs, permanently had her fingers in her mouth and was looking very nervous! Despite that we were impressed that she did seem to know all the words and had enjoyed singing the songs. Occasionally she would be brave enough to join in the actions but most of the time preferred to hide behind her fingers!

Esther was very good during the festival and even got a special ‘hello’ from Naomi’s teacher as she said in a loud voice at the beginning “that’s Naomi’s teacher!” Mrs. Deb waved! Other than that, Esther clapped at the end of the songs and joined in when she could. There were a lot of siblings present and so she also enjoyed interacting with them!

We were able to meet the parents of Naomi’s friend Ella, which was nice! I think Ella probably won’t be at the school next year as she is hoping to start at Kindergarten but it was nice to be able to say Hello to the parents! Ella also talks about Naomi a lot too, so that was nice to know!

We went shopping for some of our holiday things on Friday morning and then the girls did some painting. They enjoyed making butterfly pictures and squidgy pictures for an hour or so! In the afternoon, Nicole came round so that I could tackle the housework. It is working out very well with Nicole, mainly because she comes when she says she will and stays until the end, unlike Brooke! Consequently I am getting a lot more done and have even managed to tidy some of my cupboards, although how long they will stay that way, I don’t know! Unfortunately the house doesn’t look much tidier for very long but at least it is tidy at some point during the week!

Yesterday we went to the Northwest Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center, which we all enjoyed a great deal! There were a lot of street entertainers such as juggling, drumming and music bands and there were little stages where you could go and listen to folk music of different nationalities. It was very good and we bought a few CD’s from the bands we heard! The girls enjoyed listening and dancing to the music and watching the juggling.

There was a television crew man recording Naomi and another little girl dancing at one point but we didn’t know which channel he was from. We did try and watch a couple of the news channels last night to see but we couldn’t see her – we’ll never know whether she made it onto the television or not now!!

After we came home we watched the end of Nemo and then went to do a bit of shopping in readiness for today! This afternoon we have had a lovely time with another church family who also live in Issaquah. Their daughter is 2 in September and she has played very well with our 2 this afternoon! We have had fun getting to know each other better and hope to do it again sometime!

The girls have come out with little Americanisms this week! I was amazed at Esther on Friday as she was telling me to put my bag in the trunk! We never use that word and I was so surprised that she knew both what it was and when to use it! Naomi quite innocently this afternoon said that we had to put something in the garbage rather than the rubbish! I am less surprised by Naomi though as she learns and is exposed to American English at school and at church.

We were proud of Naomi today as she was very brave in her class at church and spoke in the circle time for the first time. Our friend Sandy was in the classroom and encouraged her to speak out, which was great and we were pleased that Naomi now feels comfortable enough to be able to participate more. She is the youngest by quite a way and there are a lot of bigger boys, which makes it harder for her! Esther continues to do well in her new class, which is good but will enjoy it in September when Amaris (the little girl who came to play today) and Joanna come to join her.

Anyway, that is it for now. I will write on Wednesday!

5 currant buns in the baker's shop

Hello there! We have such contrast this week with the weather! This time last week, we were sweltering in high temperatures and this week it has gone back to being wet and chilly! It has been so wet, it has stopped us going to the park this week, but we still have had fun!

On Monday morning, we did a few errands and then went to Redmond to have the girls’ hair cut. They now have neat hair cuts for our holiday! Esther’s would look better if she kept her slide in for longer than 10 mins each day! After we finished at the hairdresser, we went to meet Tim for lunch. The girls are always really excited about meeting Tim and view the office as a play ground rather than a place for people to work!

They were very good girls though and felt very grown up eating lunch at the café! Microsoft is very family friendly in some ways and it is completely acceptable for children to meet their parents (usually Daddy!) for lunch and there are even high chairs for the little ones! They don’t serve child size portions but Tim is friendly with many of the staff there and so managed to get one serving onto 2 plates for the girls, which was very helpful!

After lunch it wasn’t raining and so we had a lovely walk through a beautiful wooded area on the edge of the campus. It is a brilliant secret and a brilliant mature wood that is quiet and allows you to enjoy a nature walk whilst being no more than 10 minutes away from the office! We walked right passed our old apartment which was funny! The path is well kept and there is a boarded section that the girls enjoyed tramping over! We saw some ducks and some ducklings, which were very tame! The girls really enjoyed seeing them!

We didn’t do much in the afternoon apart from make some chocolate crispy things, which was fun! We even found some Golden Syrup in QFC! The girls had one item each on the list to remember and they did their job splendidly!

It was funny though on Monday morning as I could hear Naomi reading Esther the “Hug” story. As the only 3 words in the story are “hug, Bobo, Mummy”, Naomi is perfectly capable of reading the story! However, when Naomi got to the page where Bobo (the monkey) sees his mommy, Esther was insistent that it was Daddy. It was so funny to hear Naomi teaching Esther how to read by saying, “No Esther, look, that is an M so it is Mommy, not Daddy!!” I did chuckle!

Yesterday we had our usual activities in the morning and then in the afternoon we met up with Ulrike and Rosie at the KidsQuest museum. Ulrike and the children arrived back from Germany on Monday and so it was lovely to see them again! The girls had great fun together, playing in the extensive water play section amongst other things until we were thrown out as it was time to close! Naomi was most put out!

In the evening, I went to baby-sit for Vanessa and it was lovely to have a couple of hours to read and to watch television with out thinking that I should be doing something else!

Today we went to church for our Mum’s group this morning and then met up with Jo and Zoë in the afternoon. We did manage to walk to our little park but had only just arrived when the heavens opened and it started to pour! We took shelter whilst it was very bad and then headed back home! All the girls enjoyed being outside for a short time though! My 2 pushed their strollers around which they enjoyed! In fact, I was the only one without a stroller!

We were singing today in the car coming home from church and we sang 16 verses of 5 currant buns in the bakers shop! We started off by singing that each of the children bought a bun each and then the each of the appropriate mummies and then the daddies bought a bun each and then everyone bought a bun together! At the end of it all, Ester said “gain” but I couldn’t sing it again! I was glad that no-one was in the car – they would have laughed I think!

Well, that is about it for now, I had better go and clear up and do the ironing!

Beaches and Barbeques!

Good Evening! How are you? We are fine here, although we are all weary this evening! We have had a fairly packed weekend and the girls went to sleep very quickly; quite honestly, I think I could join them!

Our lovely hot and sunny weather broke on Friday and we have had some rain over the last day or two. It is actually quite humid here, which is unusual for Seattle but I hope it will feel fresher in the morning.

It was still beautiful on Thursday and after our usual morning activities of school and gym class, the girls and I met our friends in a lovely park by the lake. We have found 3 new parks this week which has been great! The one on Thursday is called Waverley Beach Park and it is on Lake Washington. It has a marvelous view of the Seattle and mountains. It was very peaceful watching the children play in the playground! We also enjoyed the drive down to the beach as the houses were enormous (and outrageous!) on the road leading to the beach! They apparently are very very expensive ($2 million) mainly due to their brilliant views!

On Friday we went down to Kent to see our Russian family; our friend is pregnant and having a few problems which is worrying and frightening for her. She has another scan at the specialist hospital tomorrow and I am hoping that I will be able to ring and find out how she got on. My scan is not until mid June and I have already started to feel it move slightly which is nice! In the afternoon our girl came to look after the children and I got on with the serious job of clearing out my cupboards!

Yesterday we went to see Vanessa and James briefly in the morning to talk about our holiday plans and then took the children to church. The youth group and leaders were putting on a babysitting event to raise money to go on a trip in the summer. We took our 2 and then went onto lunch with our friends Jeff and Jen. The girls enjoyed their time; it was well planned and there were only a few children – I think it was 1.5 children to each adult, so it was a good ratio! We enjoyed our lunch and then a wander around Freemont and in the book and CD stores. I don’t think they raised much money though!

I had to pop out again when we came back to buy the ingredients for the salad I was making; I left the children with Tim and when I came back, Naomi was downstairs playing and Esther was I thought upstairs with Tim. After a few minutes, when Esther hadn’t come back down, I called up to see if they were all right. Worryingly, Tim didn’t know that Esther was upstairs and so I went to investigate. Somehow, she had managed to reach the Vaseline on the top of her chest of drawers and was covered in it from head to toe! Her trousers were greasy, her top was greasy and her hands and feet were still soft to touch after she had had a bath! I don’t know how she managed to reach it because she isn’t quite tall enough yet, but we now know that we can’t keep it there!! Honestly, she is such a pickle!

Today we went to church this morning and then onto a Barbeque at our friends’, Kieran and Jo, house. We had a lovely afternoon, we sat and chatted to them and the others and we were very proud of our children because they behaved so well! We were rather worried for Jo’s knick-knack collection as Esther was very fascinated but they also survived! Their daughter has just started to crawl and so Jo is going to have to move things!!! I think Esther was a good test!

One of Jo’s friends is an Australian lady who has just had a baby and her mother has just arrived from Australia to help out. The Mum was wearing tights as it is still much chillier here than Australia and Esther kept saying “black feet, black feet”! I tried to tell her that the lady was wearing tights (which she does understand) but no, she wasn’t having it and was convinced that the lady had black feet! Thankfully, the Mum understood that Esther was only 2!

I have been fascinated listening to Esther as her speech has developed at the way she structures her sentences. There is a very definite structure, it is wrong, but it is there! To make a sentence in the negative, she adds a “no” to the end of the sentence, so for example we were watching the rabbit who lives in the garden and she said “rabbit hard, no; (pause) soft”, which is understandable but not the way that you would say it.

It was also funny yesterday morning to observe the difference between the girls as Naomi understands the concept of a joke better than Esther. Yesterday they were lying in our bed (again!) and I asked Naomi whether, if she was in my bed, whether she was Mummy. She giggled and said that she was and so I asked if I should go and sleep in her bed and if Daddy should sleep in Esther’s cot! Naomi thought this was very funny and understood that I was joking; Esther on the other hand was quick to point out to me that Daddy was too big and didn’t realize that I was joking! They are funny!

Well, that is about it for now; I will write on Wednesday!

Beach afternoons!

Hello all! Hope that this finds you well! We are enjoying some seriously hot weather here and it is only May! I hope that it doesn’t get any hotter! Our house is fine if you are at home and can open all the windows, but the minute you go out and have to shut them, the house becomes like a sauna and it takes ages to cool off again!

There is not a lot of news here really! We have been to the beach on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. On Monday we went with Vanessa and the children and although the beach was great it was a long way from where we had to park and it took the girls ages to get to the top! Unfortunately they were tired and I was conscious that we needed to cook tea, which made for a bad combination!

Yesterday was better though and we went to a new park called Newcastle Beach Park with a new friend! This lady is called Nina and her daughter is Alexandra! They are the family that we met with Pam and Ken and we were finally able to get together. WE had a lovely time and will hopefully see them before we go away!

Today we went to Mum’s group in the morning and then this afternoon did a little bit of shopping before playing in the garden.

Esther made me laugh this morning and is showing that she has a memory like an elephant just like Naomi. Last week on our way home from Mom’s group I had a very very minor bump. We were sitting in a queue caused by some road works and the van in front of me started to go and then stopped abruptly; I wasn’t quite quick enough on the brake pedal and I very gently touched the bumper. There was no damage to either car but it did make quite a loud noise! This morning, coming home once we got to the same point, Esther said “no bang car, Mummy”! She had obviously remembered as I hadn’t said anything! But she was definite about what she meant!

That is about it really! I am going to end it here!

Will write soon!

Alki Beach

Hello! It is a beautiful evening here in Seattle, the sky is a cloudless blue and the sun is setting! The birds are singing and we feel very relaxed today!

We have finally had a healthy weekend and it has been glorious weather, so we have had a lovely, relaxing weekend! I remember now why I forgave the winter for being so terrible when we can enjoy days and weeks like today! I hope that the weather has stayed fine with you and that you too have enjoyed your weekends!

Yesterday we went for a walk along one of the trails in Issaquah, which was great! Naomi took her bike and Esther took her dolly stroller and they swapped at intervals so we managed to get quite a long way. It was very pleasant walking along the path and it is quite peaceful. We will have to investigate where else it goes another day.

We ended up at the Public Market in Pickering place where we grabbed some lunch and had a browse at the stalls! The girls had a sausage roll at the market – I don’t think I’ve seen one since I have left England! They both enjoyed it, although we did have to scrape the top off for Esther as they were glazed with egg! We rather worried the stall owners though as we explained that she was allergic to egg and they were concerned that she might have a reaction! She didn’t she was perfectly fine and the owners were visibly relieved when I took Esther back to show them a normal healthy child!

Most of the stalls are outside and many things are not worth buying but they are fun to wander around. One of the stalls was selling jumpers, scarves and gloves made from Alpaca wool and the Alpaca’s were also there for the children to stroke and to look at! The girls enjoyed it – Esther said that they were very soft! I think Naomi understood the concept that the Alpacas were shaved and their wool turned into the jumpers, but I am not too sure! It is a hard concept to grasp!

In the afternoon, we stayed at home; Naomi, Esther and I did some painting and then helped Tim in the garden. The garden is looking very respectable – thanks to Tim and his Mum’s efforts!

Last night, Tim and I watched the film “The Constant Gardener”, which I can definitely recommend, but it is quite sad and thought provoking, so be warned! Certainly worth watching though!

Today after church we went to the beach with some friends and had a lovely afternoon. It was beautiful and we had a wonderful view of Seattle, the Olympics and the water. The girls enjoyed playing in the sand and walking along the sea front! They were both amused by the men with no shirts on! Esther was very persistent that we noticed them with “nothing on ‘t’all” and Naomi was amused by a largish man with “nipples and a tummy!!” There were also a lot of people lying on the sea front wall which seemed a crazy idea to me as all the children (including ours) were trying to walk along it! It can’t possibly be a comfortable place to lie and they really were asking for someone to walk on top of them!!!

We had an ice cream (or lollipop) on the way home which made us all very sticky but was very much enjoyed! The girls were both humming – a good sign that they were enjoying theirs!

We were so sticky that we had a bath as soon as we got in this evening and then the girls had tea afterwards! They were in bed early and I think they are both asleep – they were both shattered!

On Friday the girls and I went to the little zoo in the morning, which we all enjoyed! They enjoyed feeding the Alpacas and the elk; Naomi was very brave and let the animals feed from her hand all by herself! Esther still likes me to hold her hand too though! We enjoyed talking to the parrots and playing peek-a-boo with one of them!! It is a great place to go for an hour or so and we enjoyed it!

On Thursday afternoon we had a rather poor attempt at going to a park! The park was in Kirkland and was not that easy to find and then it rained so it was a bit of a dead loss really! We’ll try somewhere different this week!

Tim and I were laughing the other day about how much more meaningful conversations would be if they were accompanied by a musical background like in “Lost” for example. We then thought about our conversations that day and wondered what sort of musical accompaniment would go with Esther commenting when we go to the toilet or Naomi telling us all about her imaginary friends! Perhaps not!!!!

On that note, I shall leave you all wondering what sort of musical accompaniment you would like to your conversations and will sign off here!

Esther's 2nd Birthday

Hello all! I hope that this finds you well! We are on the mend and miraculously, Esther has avoided the stomach flu that the rest of us came down with! I am so relieved as she always is ill for a good month if she goes down with anything like this!

It was Esther’s birthday yesterday and she had a wonderful day! She was so happy and excited and yet so pleased with everything that it was a lovely day for us all! Naomi was a star too and was excited for Esther without wanting to have anything for herself! I was very proud of them both! I can’t believe that Esther is now 2! She seems so grown up suddenly! She is so chatty and she is able to express her feelings a bit as well now, which is great! I now get told “I’m Rumpy” (grumpy!) which I think is a good thing!

Yesterday though, she didn’t say that she was grumpy but that she was excited and happy! She saw her Pingu-the-penguin biscuit in the morning and at first I was worried that she didn’t like it! She seemed a bit shell shocked for the first 5 seconds but after she realized that it was Ok, she was delighted and liked it a lot! I have spent a long time trying to stop them prodding it the last couple of days! They both just love looking at it!

We had to dash out yesterday morning to take Naomi to school so we left opening presents and things until Tim came home in the evening. Esther and I went to her music class first thing, where we all sang “Happy Birthday” to her! After music class, she and I went to the park until it was time to collect Naomi! Naomi enjoyed her dance class yesterday and it was good because she started off doing tap dancing so it was nice to see that!

In the afternoon we played in the garden, with the sand pit and the garden toys for a while before Esther opened her presents! She was very excited by all of them and spent a long time looking at each one! She couldn’t quite see the purpose of the cards though and certainly didn’t have the patience to let me read them to her! She preferred them today when they were up on the shelf when she came downstairs!

I had asked her yesterday what she wanted to eat for dinner and gave her the choice of either chicken or pasta. It took ages to get a reply as she first of all said that she wanted cheese, then jelly, then sweets, then Pingu! I finally managed to persuade her that she needed to eat something first and so she finally settled on pasta! It was very typical Esther!

Esther was delighted to blow out 2 candles! I think that was her highlight of the day! She did it in one go too, so I was impressed! She also loved hearing and singing “Happy Birthday” again!

The girls played with some of the presents today and particularly loved the farm! They have both enjoyed the Elmer Stories and a couple of the ones I bought for Esther. We had a story session this afternoon which they enjoyed!

Today we haven’t done much apart from go to Mum’s group and then play at home! Tomorrow it is school, gym class and then we are going to the park!

Llamas in Issaquah!

Hello! I know that I am confusing everyone this week by not writing the blog on the right days and I am sorry but tomorrow I need to make Esther’s birthday biscuit to decorate for her on Tuesday and do a rather large pile of ironing! I thought that if I wrote the blog tonight then it would give me more time to do it all!

I have decided to make a biscuit rather than a cake for Esther as she can’t eat the eggs and she prefers biscuits to cake anyway! I am still going to decorate it – she wants it to look like Pingu – her favourite TV character! Here’s hoping that it works out OK!

We are also hoping that Esther stays well for her birthday, since Naomi, Tim and I have gone down with a rather unpleasant tummy bug this weekend! We are really not doing to well at the minute, what with Naomi and Tim being unwell last weekend and Tim and I being unwell this! Naomi went down with it on Wednesday evening, but I initially thought that it was a reaction to the antibiotics that she is on. I went down with it on Thursday and Tim caught it yesterday. Amazingly, Esther has so far escaped it and so I hope that she continues to be well.

Tim and I feel better then we did but still not brilliant and to make matters even more frustrating, I have a cold as well!! I don’t know! Hopefully, next weekend we will all be healthy!

We have taken it easy the last few days, although we did manage to get to the park on Thursday afternoon with our friends, which was good. Yesterday morning, I took the children to the library and then to the park; it was such a beautiful day we needed to be outside! To our amazement whilst we were at the park, 4 llamas came through the car park with their owners! They stopped to let the children stroke them, which my 2 both did! Esther was keener than Naomi but they did both stroke them! The girls were watching them eat the grass and enjoyed looking at them! I asked the lady why she had them and she replied that they made good pets!! I am not sure that I want one in my garden though! Apparently they live on a farm not too far from here and had been walked down to Issaquah for a walk!!

In the afternoon I had a lovely surprise as my birthday present arrived! Tim (it turns out) has spent ages editing my blog and sent it to a special publisher who will print it in a book for you! I was so taken aback by seeing it in print! I was speechless! It is wonderful and I spent ages re-reading it yesterday! It is such a lovely thing to have! It will be such a wonderful memento when we come home and the girls are all grown up!

Today I had to pop out for a little while this morning to buy the things I need to make Esther’s birthday biscuit and we also spent a little bit of time researching a birthday / Christmas present for them! We just need to order it now! We think we will buy them a plastic Wendy house for outside, which they will both love!

Naomi made us laugh this evening! When she was asked what she would like for pudding she replied “a whale” and so I said “Whale it is then!” To her amazement I managed to create a whale out of an apple pot, a raisin and some writing icing! She thought it was great! Esther was not to be outdone, of course and she wanted a Nemo – created using the same ingredients! It was fun and the children were delighted!!

This afternoon Naomi was playing a great game of ringing on the doorbell and giggling when I opened it! She tried to sell me something but I soon put a stop to that! This evening she and Esther were lying on the floor with their blankets over them on our pillows and they wanted Tim and me to join them! So we all played a game of bed time / morning time for a while! Esther is very insistent that you lie down and close your eyes before it is morning time and she kept a close eye on Tim who did not seem to understand that rule very well!! They thought it was great fun!

Esther has got it into her head this week that when ever she either puts clothes on or takes them off she must “show Daddy”. In the mornings, she is “mart” so she shows Daddy her outfit for the day and in the evening she has “nothing on ‘tall” even though I try and explain that Daddy has seen it all before! She is funny!

Well, that is it for now – I will end it here! I will write on Wednesday as usual!

Louise's problem with the language!

Hello! I hope that you all enjoyed your Bank Holiday! What was the weather like?

We are fine here now and definitely better than we were at the weekend! Naomi and Tim are back to normal, which is good! I also have had a better night’s sleep, which makes me feel better!

I had to take Naomi to the doctor on Monday morning as a follow up appointment from Saturday. It turns out that the bacteria causing Naomi’s UTI are not sensitive to the antibiotics that she was on and that it would come back as soon as she stopped taking the antibiotics. They have changed her medication and she is now on a 10 day course of antibiotics that should hopefully kill the bugs!

We were at the doctor’s ages but the girls were reasonably good! They were excited because we were going to go to buy them some summer sandals after we had been to the doctor and so they were keen to leave! We did go and buy some sandals and they both are very proud of them! Naomi is delighted with hers as they light up when she walks or jumps etc and so we now have lots of jumping in the shoes just to make sure that they still work! In the sun, you can’t see the lights but in our garage they look really jazzy! Naomi says that they look as if they are going “bananary!” Great phrase!

In the afternoon we went to the park with Vanessa and the children! It was great to see them after their UK trip! They were still very jet lagged but hopefully they will recover soon!

In the evening, I went out leaving Tim to feed and bath the girls! I went into Seattle to a Mum’s evening with the other mothers from church! We had a great evening! There were quite a few of us and we had a fun time!

On Tuesday, Naomi had school in the morning whilst Esther and I went to music class! She had a great time hitting a large drum, which made me wonder what the baby must make of it and vaguely worried that I might damage its hearing! I am sure that is unlikely but Esther was having a great bang and was leaning against my tummy so that I could feel the vibrations!! Oh well, the noise will help prepare the baby for when it is born!!

Naomi then went to her combination class of gymnastics and dance; Esther and I were watching her at the end and she is trying very hard! She was talking about the 3rd position this afternoon and so I think she must be remembering something!

The girls and I went to the park on our own in the afternoon, after a rest and together time! It was better today as we were not rushing out to our play group session and we all benefited from that! We hope to move it to a Thursday on a more permanent basis!

I had a funny conversation on Sunday! It amazes me that even after 18 months of living here that I still use English words that my American friends don’t understand! I would have thought that I would have stopped that by now, but no! Thankfully though, in the last 18 months I have made friends, which means that I now have a little group of interpreters for me when I make a mistake and that people know me well enough to look blank and go “What” rather than smiling politely and still having no idea of what I am talking about!

So on Sunday, I was talking about Esther’s hair and referred to a hair slide with some friends. One of my friends looked totally blank at this but Becky, who knew what I meant from earlier conversations, rapidly translated for me! The word in American is Burette (although I have no idea if that is how you spell it or not!) I sometimes feel like an important diplomat with a string of interpreters behind me!!!

The other funny mistake that I commonly make is referring to a cookie (a sweet biscuit) as a biscuit (which here means a savory biscuit like you have with cheese!). On a couple of occasions, I have asked people if they would like a biscuit and for them to say no, only for someone like Melinda or Becky, who now know what I mean, to say “she means a cookie” and for the first person to say “Oh yes, I’d like a cookie!!”

I promise that I don’t do this on purpose but after 31 years of saying things one way, it is hard to remember that here it is different! They don’t know what the word “cheeky” means either….!

The other funny thing on Sunday was that my friend Sandy had been reading a book to her children that she had borrowed from the library! Unusually this was an English book with English words still in it and so it referred to a crisp, rather than a potato chip and the telly! In the end the children were so confused that she had to remind the children that Naomi’s mummy and daddy sometimes sounded funny and that the book came from the country that they used to live in!!! I thought that was very funny!

Well, tomorrow, we are going to Mom’s group and then having a quiet afternoon. I am out again in the evening (Tim is out tonight to make it fair!) which is why the blog is written today!

Hope that you are all well!

Will write on Sunday!
